Herd Gals Final Blog
Herd Gals - Monday, August 23, 2010This is the final farewell blog from the Herd Gals. Herd Seeder Co., Inc. has sold the Herd product line to Kasco Manufacturing Company in Shelbyville, Indiana. They will now be manufacturing all of the Herd seeders and parts just as we have for 62 years.
We have enjoyed working with our distributors and dealers for all these years and thank them for selling our product. Without them, Herd Seeder Co., Inc. wouldn't be where we are today.
We also want to thank all of our individual customers for their purchases over the years. We have enjoyed talking to you on the phone, solving your problems and hoping that we made your life a little easier with a Herd seeder. We've enjoyed your stories and the laughs we have shared with you. We've also appreciated the praise and glory of how good our seeders are and also the complaints, because without those, we couldn't better our product.
We were happy when we launched our new website because of being able to write these blogs and inform you of things that were happening and also to help with problems. We just wish we could write more of these, but that will be left up to the new owners.
Again, thank you for letting us into your lives and the testimonies you have given Herd Seeder Company. How to Wire a GT-77ATV Spreader
Herd Gals - Monday, June 14, 2010Today we're going to talk about how to wire your GT-77ATV spreader. We receive many phone calls on this topic with the question, "we wired up the motor, but it won't run" or "I think my motor is bad. It worked last year, but this year I turn it on and it won't work." So, we're going to make this real simple and give step by step instructions on how to wire the motor so that it will work every time.
The first step is to take the orange wire that comes out of the motor and attach it to one side of the push-pull switch.
Next, the #812 wiring kit which comes with your seeder, take the part which has the short fuse line and attach it to the positive side of the battery. The longer part of the wire, attach to the other side of the push-pull switch. Now you should be able to pull up on the push -pull switch and the motor will run. If it does not run, then you have a grounding problem.
Now for the grounding problems. The ground wire on the motor grounds itself back to the seeder. If the motor is not running and you have it wired correctly, it needs to be grounded. Take the small black wire that comes with your seeder and attach it to any place on the seeder and the other end to the ground of the battery. This should be a good ground and your motor should work correctly. If you're using our #544 3-point mounting, you will definitely need to ground the motor.
Well, it's as simple as that. Don't make this more difficult than it is. Just follow our instructions and it will work the way it should.
